Booking a removals company

Arrange for a removal estimate from a couple of reputable and established companies.
Advise us about parking problems if any at both addresses.
Receive and consider our written quotations and phone the companies for further advise.
Call us to check availability for the date you require and provisionally book to ensure you have the day secured.
As soon as you can confirm your dates with us in order for boxes to be delivered
Sign and return contract and pay the charges
Arrange a contact number and give this to us in advance of your move
Provide us with maps of your current and new addresses

Sorting your belongings

Dispose of anything you don't want and have agreed that is not to be moved
Sort out any items which are not to be moved
Clear the loft
Put garage/garden tools together
Take down curtains and take up carpets
Run down freezer contents
Find and label keys for your purchaser
Take down any light fittings

Who will you need to notify?

Arrange minders to look after pets and very young children on the moving day
Plan where things will go in your new home
Contact carpet fitters if needed
Separate valuable items and important documents ready for you to hand-carry on moving day
Collect children's toys etc for the journey
Put together a basic catering pack for the family at the new home – including the kettle!
Collect together contact details of those you may need to contact during the move
Have items such as clothes and toiletries kept separately so giving you time to unpack.
